Strachan gives Boston College nine commitments.
After weeks of hinting that Boston College was in the lead, St. Sebastians School (MA) linebacker Connor Strachan committed to the Eagles on Friday evening.
Rated as the top player in Massachusetts according to the 247Composite, the 6-foot-2, 240-pound prospect picked home-state Boston College over the likes of Wake Forest, Connecticut and fellow finalist, Virginia.
Strachan received a three-star, .8752 rating and is the nation's 17th best inside linebacker according to the 247Composite.
With his commitment, Boston College now has nine pledges so far in the 2014 class and has surged back into the Top 25 - 22nd overall - after sliding over the last few weeks due to numerous other programs picking up commitments.
The Eagles are also fourth in the ACC now, jumping ahead of Duke, and only trailing Florida State, Miami and Virginia Tech.
Lead recruiter Don Brown also makes the jump in the recruiter rankings, moving up 11 spots to fifth in the ACC behind only Art Kehoe (Miami), James Coley (Miami), Chad Morris (Clemson) and Jeremy Pruitt (Florida State).
